Longtime association leader dies at age 75By Walt WilliamsThe former head of four Washington, D.C.-area trade associations, Graydon Powers, died Sept. 11 of complications from Lewy Body Dementia. He was 75. Powers spent more than three decades in the association sector, much of it as a top executive. Before retiring in 1998, he led the American Textile Machinery Association, the Scientific Apparatus Makers Association, the American Concrete Pipe Association and the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association.
